Melanie the Moose is a moose living in the forests of North America.

Physical Appearance

Unlike all female moose in real-life, Melanie is depicted with antlers which male moose only have in real life. Melanie has two large antlers between her head, is coloured brown, and has purple hooves.

Personality

Melanie shows a very friendly personality - often showing her personality to Randolph and Beverley whenever she interacts with them. However, in spite of her little clumsiness, Melanie is actually very innocent. At first when her friends became harsh with her, it caused Melanie to walk away for being useless and clumsy. However, despite her bad reputation of being called that way, it is then shown that Melanie's friends can always stick together, even after she was berated with harshness of her bad reputation of being useless and clumsy. In addition to this, Melanie is also used to the winter which occurs across the North American landscape, often spending time in the snow as well as occasionally using her snowboard as a hobby which she obtained as a birthday gift.

Trivia

• Melanie's appearance is anatomically incorrect. Despite having two antlers on the top of her head, female moose do not have antlers, as only male moose have antlers.
• To avoid confusion with the American elk (Cervus canadensis - also known as the wapiti; "elk" being a British phrase for "moose"), Melanie is called a "moose" (Alces alces), which is a US English phrase likely due to the forest being set in North America. However, both species of deer (elk and moose) are native to North America.
• She is the second animal to have a birthday revealed. The first is Herbert. The third are Giggles and Tickles.
• Even though Melanie is friends with Boris, bears and moose are predators in real life.
• Her favourite birthday present is the snowboard.
• It is revealed Melanie likes to eat herbs in the online game found in the Millimages website. However, Melanie is never seen eating green herbs in the series. Instead, Melanie is seen eating yellow grass in the series.
• Melanie is the first animal that gets yelled by other animals with harsh words. The second is Gary. The third is Thelma. The fourth is Nigel.
